Our letter to the President

Dear President Obama,

Please take action to end America’s affordable housing and homelessness crisis. We need:
  • More section 8 vouchers immediately
  • Build public housing to meet the need
  • Full funding of the National Housing Trust Fund
  • Stop foreclosures

Dear Mr. Obama,

I am a single mother and our rent is too high, my daughter and I are struggling with rent and food. We do need extra help.

We need more help!

I am an unemployed union glazier from Local 1621 in San Jose, California.

I filed for unemployment three months ago, but still have not received benefits.

What are you doing for us?

Dear President Obama,

We need more support for public housing. The way it is getting so expensive out here in Silicon Valley, we need help to make life affordable. Thank you so much.

Yes we can! It is a blessing.

Susan Ward, San Jose

I am a little older than I was in 2006 when I lost my apartment that summer. I have a job, but it does not pay enough. I am a veteran, but I have no service-related disabilities. Therefore I am not able to purchase glasses or get my teeth fixed. If I could get section 8 it sure would help, but the waiting list is very long. I am number 50,254, or something like that.

We trust you. Thanks so much.
